Earth Friendly and Gluten Free starter’s guide

Gluten Free at Peoples Organic Coffee and Wine Cafe June 15, 2011

Peoples Organic might be new in town, but it’s no stranger to gluten-free foods. Owner Lynn Gordon previously founded French Meadow Bakery, a certified-organic bakery known for its line of gluten-free breads (in addition to vegan, yeast-free and kosher breads). At this Galleria café, any of the sandwiches, along with the wraps, can be served on gluten-free bread or in a gluten-free tortilla upon request. The Rachel ($9.95) is made with natural, oven-roasted turkey, Swiss cheese and sauerkraut, with Thousand Island dressing.

Also for your gluten-free enjoyment, find meal-sized soups like the Asian fresh ginger broth, a breakfast burrito, a couple of gluten-free beers and a gluten-free macaroon.

Galleria, 3510 W. 70th St.; 952.426.1856; Hours: 6 a.m.–10 p.m. Mon.–Thurs., 6 a.m.–11 p.m. Fri.–Sat., 6 a.m.–9 p.m. Sun.

I would give this bread an ok rating. I am just in love with Udi so it is hard for me to like anything else at this point.
However, I will keep trying new breads when I find them.

French Meadow Fudge Brownie- Gluten Free July 30, 2009

Yummy! This brownie was very good. It is also lactose free.
I got it at U Bake but am sure it is available other places too.

Overall though, I would recommend making your own brownies with either Betty Crocker or Namaste mixes then freezing them. Buying an individual serving brownie can get very very expensive. This one from French Meadow was $1.79.
